From Klang Valley to the world

Under the name Oversea itself, the company maintains its roots firmly in Kuala Lumpur with three chain restaurants in the Klang Valley and two in Ipoh, all while also owning other eateries under different names as well as different kinds of cuisines.

Also under the Oversea umbrella is a dim sum outlet in Sri Petaling, as well as a Hong Kong-style cuisine restaurant known as Tsim Tsung in Pandan Indah. In addition, the company also successfully launched two casual dining outfits within Genting Highlands.

And not just that, this record-shattering Malaysian company also proudly brought its Malaysian identity with it on its overseas expansion to open a café within the Wan Chai commercial area in Hong Kong, bringing Ipoh-style Chinese cuisine to a huge international city; as well as a bakery and café called “Alter Ego 1892” in Taipei, Taiwan.  

Oversea is a listed company

Incorporated as a restaurant and business partnership some five decades ago, Oversea grew to such a powerhouse that on April 1^st 2010 it became listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.

Last year (2020), Oversea’s original founder Mr. Yu Soo Chye @ Yee Soo Chye announced they would be working with Focus Dynamics Group Berhad to embark on an international expansion plan.

As one of the most well-known Chinese restaurants in the country, has grown since its first location on Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur, to various outlets around the Klang Valley and up to Ipoh, as well as a sister restaurant all the way in Taipei City, Taiwan.

In 2017, the group was also awarded The Asia Pacific International Honesty Enterprise Keris Award for demonstrating outstanding honesty and integrity as a leader in the F&B industry.
